How famous is the Stonehenge in UK? It is so famous that any normal internet user sees a picture or two of this Stonehenge. Many just wondered but I was curious. I know it was a Stonehenge but on what particular country or place is a mystery. The process of finding is arduous and long and at last I found it. Eureka!

The Stonehenge is situated in Wiltshire and a prehistoric monument; particularly more than 10 and less than 15 kilometers of the north side of Salisbury. It consists of earthwork which is circulated on a standing stones during the Bronze and Neolithic Age.

The Stonehenge is designated as a World Heritage and thus protected. It is already 5000 years old. Theories of the reason why it is built are numerous. Some says that it is a burial site, other says it is an altar and other says that it is a healing sanctuary. But there is only one thing for sure is an English heritage.

This World Heritage site is a reminder that there once a powerful society living in England. So, powerful that even today there are talked about. They are believed to be people that live during the Bronze and Stone Ages yet its true reason remains to be a mystery to be discovered.

It is a much respected place I know but this Christmas season I see the pictures of Stonehenge dressed up and ready for the Christmas Holiday. It is only an imagination I know and it will remain an imagination. United Kingdom Holiday is ever bountiful and merry.
